Perhaps the biggest update yet


There was a glitch in earlier versions of the game where enemies would fire after leaving the bottom of the screen. I learned that this was not merely a glitch in the game's code, but with Godot Engine itself. In this case, I decided to hard-code a more precise method to determine whether an enemy was outside the screen or not.

Another change I made was rebalancing the game's difficulty. This game has a rank system, a common shmup mechanic where difficulty would change in-game depending on the player's performance (Battle Garegga is perhaps the most well-known game to feature this mechanic). I set a hard cap on the game's rank for the standard game mode, to prevent difficulty from spiraling out of control. However, higher difficulty modes are planned to be included in the game, one of which will do more than simply change the starting and maximum rank.
